I know own a gumdrop case for my iPhone and iPad. I also purchased the same for my wife's iPhone and iPad. In my opinion there's nothing better to protect your investments. My wife says she loves the gumdrops but I think she would have liked more choices in colors. We can now hand our iPads or iPhones over to our children that are both seven year olds without worry. Best of all it fits like a glove on the device, it almost becomes part of the unit it protects. All ports are accessible and protected when not used. The screen is just as responsive as without the case. I switched from otter box and couldn't be happier. Hope this helps.

I am able to compare both the Otterbox to this Gumdrop case as I have an Otterbox for my Ipad 1. Putting the otterbox together almost becomes a puzzle with all the various components, snapping into place and if not put together properly it makes it very difficult to use buttons on the Ipad. While it does protect the item, it is a lot of pieces, and many people buy the otterbox simply for the brand name. I purchased the Gumdrop for the Ipad 2 after some extensive research for a GOOD case that will protect, without feeling like hard plastic. Protect being the key since this Ipad was a gift for my 5 year old. This case is very rugged, easy to put on, has a nice overall feel that adds bulk to the ipad, all button holes are in the correct place, and it is heavy duty case. I don't feel I need to worry about the Ipad if it is dropped, though if it is, I will be sure to come back and post an update to how it held up.

I want to keep this review short and sweet. Very, very, very nice case! It's thick, it's durable, and it turns the iPad into a tank! All port covers are very well protected, all buttons work well, and the screen is out of harms way. The only thing that may or may not be a issue is that once the iPad2 is inside, the total weight is at least double than that of the iPad by itself. I like the heftyness myself, but that's me.

If you think the price is a bit high, like I did at first, don't. This case is more than worth every penny! I wouldn't think twice about buying another one if I end up getting a second iPad. Just get it and you'll know what I mean!
